Seabury’s Cargo Advisory group, a division of Seabury Aviation & Aerospace, is a dedicated cargo consulting unit based at the World Trade Centre in Amsterdam. Our consulting services are dedicated to the air cargo industry and range from strategic, planning to performance boosting advisory and market intelligence. Besides our consulting services, Seabury Cargo Advisory maintains the world's most extensive and reliable databases on trade by air and ocean. These databases require verification and improvement of large amounts of data that we purchase from more than 50 customs offices on a monthly basis. We have put more than 60 man-years into dedicated research and development to create the current datasets and upload procedures. Our clients – major airlines, airports, shipping lines and other key players in the global cargo industry – use these databases to analyze market trends, generate sales leads, calculate market shares, and other business intelligence activities.

Job description
Seabury is looking for a database developer to maintain and optimize its complex databases, but also to develop new database products. He/she will moreover take care of the development of tools and SQL scripts to automate processes. In addition, testing procedures will be implemented to verify data and ensure its integrity & consistency. The developer will also be responsible for the technical support for our databases and help with data requests from clients by extracting the required data. Besides product development, he/she will have several administrative tasks, such as maintaining the Microsoft SQL 2005 and IBM Cognos Business Intelligence server.

Your profile
HBO’s or BSc. degree in Computer Science with good results
Programming experience with T-SQL is required
Experience with SSIS and DTS is preferred
Programming experience with languages such as C# or Java is preferred
Capability to build and improve upon databases, data structures and processes
Willingness to participate in day-to-day maintenance, updating and publishing data products
Excellent English accompanied by strong written and verbal communication skills
